In God's Word, in 1 Corinthians 13:4-10, we are given a clear description of what God's love is and how to display it towards others. It is made clear that this level of love is selfless, kind, patient, forgiving, honest, and much more. This depiction of Love is the same love God shows, through Jesus, to us sinners, through His death and resurrection. In fact, it is through this love towards others that we are connected to God, as stated in 1 John 4: 7-8. Without love, we are unable to know God. Sadly, this specific passage, 1 Corinthians 13: 4-10, is mistaken for only couples, when in reality this passage is for our connections to EVERYONE. God's definition of love, in this passage, is given to us as a guidebook on how to love everyone, whether they are strangers, siblings, friends, or partners. Anyone and everyone is granted the opportunity to rest in God's love. So, as commanded of us in 1 John 4: 11, let us share the love of God with everyone, so that everyone may be able to receive the love God intended for us ALL to have.
